Kapau-a-Nuʻakea was the 3rd Alii Aimoku of Molokai. She ruled as titular Queen Regnant or chieftain of the island of Molokai. Her family descends from Nanaulu, 14th generation descendant of Wakea, of the first migration to Hawaii in 6th century.[1]
She was the only known daughter of King Keoloewa and Queen Nuakea. Through her father, she was the granddaughter of Kamauaua, first sovereign lord of Molokai. Through her mother, she was the great-granddaughter of Maweke and cousin to Elepuukahonua, King of Oahu; Ewaulialaakona, King of Ewa; Mualani, Queen of Koolau; and Haulanuiaiakea, King of Kauai. No special legend attaches to Kapau-a-Nuakea, nor to her husband Lanileo. Her daughter Kamauliwahine by her husband Lanileo succeeded him.
KAPAU is also a war scream or an expression of extreme gaming joy.
